Brussels, Washington, Beijing: Geostrategic Determinants for Poland
On 25 November 2025, during the Forum of Local and Regional Authorities in Zakopane, a panel titled “Brussels, Washington, Beijing – Geostrategic Conditions for Poland” explored Poland’s position amid the evolving power dynamics involving the EU, the United States, China, and Russia. The speakers examined how long Poland can sustain its current high level of strategic vigilance in the face of mounting geopolitical pressures, as well as whether the country can avoid being pushed to the margins in a global arena dominated by major powers.
The resilience of the healthcare system was a central topic at the Forum of Local and Regional Authorities in Zakopane, where experts took part in the panel “Health Security in the Hands of Local Authorities – Cooperation, Planning, Crisis Management.” Among the speakers were Prof. Andrzej Matyja, Vice-President of the Kraków Chamber of Physicians and former President of the Supreme Medical Council (2018–2022); Joanna Bogacz, Director of the Health Department at the Małopolska Voivodeship Office; Anna Czech, Director of St. Luke Provincial Hospital in Tarnów; Paweł Wesołowski, Deputy Director of the 5th Military Clinical Hospital with Polyclinic in Kraków; and Michał Tuczabski, Executive Director of the National Program for Mental Health Rescuers.
